Real Estate Paralegal needed in our Brickell office! The Real Estate Paralegal plays a crucial role in supporting the Real Estate practice group and boosting attorney efficiency by managing information and aiding in the delivery of legal services, including client interactions. This position demands a proactive attitude to ensure tasks are completed on time, exceptional organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to excel in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The Paralegal will be expected to track and record their own billable time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Track all billable and non-billable time in 3E.
  • Research skills and use of platforms for conducting/analysis of results.
  • Proofread all documents and correspondence for accuracy.
  • Preparation of residential and commercial real estate contracts, including lease agreements.
  • Prepare closing documents.
  • Facilitate communication between the attorneys for buyer and sellers.
  • Order and review title reports, lien letters, surveys, etc.; flag issues; and have a firm understanding regarding what must be done to clear any issues prior to closing.
  • Attend and Conduct closings.
  • Monitor financial transactions.
  • Monitor deadlines for closing purposes and due diligence matters.
  • Draft basic transactional documents and Revise documents while keeping track of transactional modifications and update accordingly.
  • Prepare signature pages for all transactional documents.
  • Entity formation including preparation and filing of amendments to organizational documents as necessary - basic proficiency in corporate governance documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain closing checklists.
  • Prepare closing statements including RESPA and ALTA compliant.
  • Preparation of title synopsis for attorney.
  • Assist attorneys in commercial real estate matters.
  • Familiarity with the terms FinCEN, KYC and 1031 Exchange, Florida Foreign Buyer Regulations and how they are relevant to real estate transactions.
  • Maintain good relationships with clients and vendors in professional manner.
  • Maintain organized files for voluminous transactions.
  • Handle attorney support aspects of a commercial transaction, title/survey review, UCC research and filings, due diligence, ancillary document drafting, and closing/post-closing procedures.
  • Handle all aspects of post-closing for disbursement and delivery of loan packages.
  • Prepare and coordinate all final title policies for transactions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  1. Minimum of five years' experience with Commercial Real Estate and proficiency in Residential Real Estate Transactions.
  2. Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
  3. General knowledge about lease negotiations, financing options, lending requirements and documents, required.
  4. Required to routinely take continuing education courses related to the practice area.
  5. Familiarity with the terms FinCEN, KYC and 1031 Exchange, and how they are relevant to real estate transactions, preferred.
  6. Experienced in the following software or systems: ATIDS, AgentNet, TitleWave, E-Closing, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), AltaStar
  7. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish). Professional-level proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking both languages is required to serve our clients.
