Position Overview:

The Reality Capture Field SpecialistI is an integral part of the Reality Capture department and in collaboration with other Field Specialists provides onsite laser scanning, survey control, SLAM mobile scanning, and preconstruction survey support. Responsibilities will include operation of all Feldman Geospatial’s scanning equipment, alongside conventional survey instruments including Levels, Total Stations, and GPS. Field Specialists will be guided by senior Field personnel in assisting with executing laser scanning plans, survey control, and level runs in support of Reality Capture department projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

    • Perform on site laser scanning survey for point cloud deliverables.
    • Operate Leica P40, P50, RTC360 scanners and Navvis VLX laser scanners.
    • Perform conventional survey including Total Station operation, Digital Levels, and DGPS
    • Receive project briefing from senior RC Field personnel or Project Managers/APMs and work in tandem with support for successful delivery.
    • Provide support to RC Field personnel in equipment setup.
    • Work under direction of RC Field personnel and Managers to execute scan plan for project delivery.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous relevant scanning, survey, or engineering experience a plus, training will be provided
  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying, engineering, or equivalent experience a plus
  • Outstanding communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong independent management skills
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and relationships with Feldman team members.
  • Troubleshooting and solution-oriented approach to problem solving once training is complete
  • Ability to organize, analyze and present information and data in a clear, concise, and meaningful way, including with MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT)

Working Conditions:

  • The physical work environment is most often field based with long periods of standing.
  • Travel is required to work sites. You must be in position of reliable transport and a valid and driving license.
  • Site work will be safety critical locations where PPE is required. Work may be outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry approx. 50 pounds
  • Work may be on active construction sites or facilities, in adverse weather conditions, and/or at heights. You may be required to navigate confined/crawl spaces.
