Additional Compensation Details:

  • $19.50 - $22.00+ per hour
  • Potential 90-day performance-based raise
  • Yearly review with possibility of increase based on performance and tenure.
Job Description

The Role

The Receiving Cooling Warehouse Operator performs critical receiving and cooling operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position requires the ability to safely operate material handling equipment, monitor cooling systems, and maintain strict food safety and quality standards. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, situational awareness around moving equipment, and the ability to work independently while adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (any combination of the following job duties):

Receiving Operations

  • Receive and inspect incoming products from delivery trucks, verifying product identity and quality standards with QC personnel.
  • Communicate with supervisory staff regarding any product concerns, quality issues, or discrepancies identified during offloading before entering inventory.
  • Offload products from trucks using sit-down forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Rotate and organize inventory according to warehouse procedures while assisting the inventory clerk.
  • Maintain accurate receiving documentation and ensure all products are properly logged into the inventory system.
  • Uphold GMP standards and comply with all company safety policies, food safety protocols, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area at all times.
  • Report any food safety concerns or product quality compromises immediately to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

Cooling Operations

  • Prepare and inspect pre-cooling equipment prior to operation, ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
  • Monitor and replenish ice room supplies daily, reporting any deficiencies to supervisors.
  • Verify that automatic ORP and pH monitoring units are operating efficiently and report any malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
  • Operate cooling equipment including hydrocoolers, pressure cooling systems, and ice injectors according to established standard operating procedures (training required prior to equipment operation).
  • Maintain detailed cooling logs by recording time and internal product temperatures for all items in pre-cooling areas.
  • Ensure all cooling equipment is properly shut down when not in use and perform periodic checks throughout the day to verify optimal operation; report any issues to the supervisor immediately.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform additional warehouse or yard duties as assigned to support operational needs and business objectives.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

 

  • 2+ years of forklift operation experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated warehouse environment
  • Proficiency with warehouse inventory systems and RF scanners
  • Ability to identify produce quality and perform accurate counts with basic math skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work overtime when business demands require (seasonal peaks, vacation coverage, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Inventory control experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build cooperative relationships across departments
