    Description

    Reporting to the Store Manager (or his/her delegate), the Receiver is responsible to receive incoming products and handle product return, replacement etc. This position also needs to provide good service to vendors and staff, and keep the receiving equipment and workplace in a good status.

    T&T Supermarkets is marking over 30 years as Canada's favorite Asian grocery store and recently announced the first store location in the United States. Our growth into the US offers great opportunities within our first US flagship store, set to open in 2024 in Bellevue, Washington in the Marketplace at Factoria, spanning 76,000 sq.ft. and will stand as the largest Asian specialty supermarket in Washington state.

    We have additional plans for growth and will also be establishing a regional office in the greater Los Angeles area to grow T&T Supermarket's vendor base with American food suppliers.

    Job Responsibilities

    You Will:

    • Support the team leaders by overseeing daily operations and staff performance, providing on-the-job training, guidance, and supervision to ensure the achievement of department goals through collaborative teamwork. • Ensure thorough quality control measures during product receiving and efficiently manage inventory across display areas and backrooms; process, sort, tally related invoices and documents and disperse them to relevant Department Heads. • Assist other departments to handle products returned & replaced; manage shrinkage & examine obsolete items; ensure non-room temperature products are placed inside the warehouse/cooler timely. • Responsible for ordering, replenishing and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies; coordinate with other departments in supplies distribution. • Ensure machinery for handling garbage and cardboard functioning properly, tie and bundle paper timely, properly and safely. • Follow procedures to execute in-store transfers. • Ensure receiving machinery, equipment and working tools are under regular maintenance and well-kept. • Ensure receiving areas is organized, clear, unblocked and safe. • Control backdoor access and enforce relevant policies. • Greet vendors and staff by providing friendly service. • Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the department.

    Requirements

    You Should Have:

    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience • Able to stand for extended periods to handle products, regularly moving and lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds. • Good computer skills in MS Office • Valid Fork Lift or Pallet Jack license • Familiar with relevant tools and equipment, able to interpret product labels accurately. • Good communication skills in English, proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is advantageous. • Well versed with workplace health and safety protocols. • Great organization, problem-solving, interpersonal and customer service skills. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. • Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays
