SUMMARY: Individuals in this position ensure all products are received and issued correctly to maintain accurate inventory levels. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Receive product accurately into Syteline
- Inventory products in their correct location and ensure accuracy
- Issue material as required by job
- Data entry of inventory adjustments and inventory counts
- Maintain the proper visual management and organization of all purchased materials
- Verify incoming steel and manufactured materials against purchase orders, packing slips, specifications, and material identification
- Accurately label products to ensure accurate delivery of parts to a job
- Operate material handling equipment including fork trucks and overhead cranes
- Interact with accounting and all levels of management to maintain inventory accuracy (Syteline)
- Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None QUALIFICATIONS: - Working knowledge of steel products, including common sheet, plate, structural shapes, and material identification
- Ability to recognize and accurately handle various steel types, sizes, and gauges
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or steel-processing environment preferred
- Attention to detail and the ability to process a high volume of transactions and paperwork accurately and timely
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment
- Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently and cooperatively with others
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal departments, drivers, suppliers, etc.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment assessment testing
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material-handling environment preferred
- Experience working with steel, sheet metal, fabricated components, or similar industrial materials strongly preferred
- Powered industrial truck or forklift experience required, experience with standup lift a plus
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
REQUIRED SKILLS: - Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English language
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and unit conversions)
- Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16”
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and electronic document handling
- Ability to learn and accurately navigate Syteline or another ERP and inventory control system
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies while maintaining accurate records and material traceability
- Knowledge of safe material handling practices and the ability to follow established procedures
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; talk or hear including operation of a handheld radio. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Required to walk up and down ladders. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the non-air-conditioned work environment is usually moderate. Required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe shoes, must be worn at all times.
