Must have one year of clerical experience.
Certification/Registration/Licensure
Must have a certificate of completion of a food handler training course accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and/or the Texas Department of State Health Services (TXDSHS) or must obtain one within sixty (60) days of placement in the role.
Skills or Special Abilities
Must have physical ability for receiving and storing inventory items.
Must be able to demonstrate manual dexterity in handling supplies while avoiding damage.
Must demonstrate organizational ability for maintaining inventory records.
Must have basic mathematical skills to perform inventory control procedures.
Responsibilities
Physically receives merchandise from PHHS Receiving Dock or other assigned departmental units. Under supervision, checks deliveries to ensure that orders are complete, accurate and undamaged.
Assists in processing and maintenance of merchandise records and receipts, including packing slips, damage notes, etc., to provide comprehensive and accurate records of received inventory items.
Organizes merchandise as needed in assigned storage areas, and delivers merchandise to appropriate personnel to ensure that supplies and other patient and staff needs are met.
Responsible for maintaining a sanitary and orderly environment in the warehouse and/or inventory areas to ensure adherence to departmental and PHHS standards.
Maintains a positive working relationship with vendors and employees to ensure that timely delivery and quality service are maintained.

Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
