The Receiving & Returns Supervisor is responsible for leading daily inbound receiving and returns operations to ensure timely, accurate, and inventory-driven processing across all distribution channels. This role partners cross-functionally to maintain operational excellence, protect inventory integrity, and support a high-performing receiving team within a fast-paced distribution environment. Reports to the Senior Manager of Shipping Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily receipt of inbound shipments, ensuring alignment with advance shipment details, priority SKUs, and established receiving windows.
  • Ensure all inbound product is received accurately and system transactions are completed in accordance with defined inventory control standards.
  • Monitor workflow to maintain consistent throughput across Receiving and Returns functions.
  • Partner with worldwide vendors and internal stakeholders to confirm shipment details, documentation accuracy, and scheduling requirements.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues including shortages, overages, damages, and system variances that may impact inventory availability or sales order fulfillment.
  • Communicate with Paramus partners regarding priority SKUs needed to support open sales orders and business demands.
  • Supervise and support Receiving and Returns team members.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, troubleshooting support, and operational direction.
  • Address employee inquiries related to PTO, scheduling, and inbound/returns processing.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and results-oriented team environment.
  • Collaborate with Distribution, Customer Service, Logistics, and E-Commerce teams to ensure seamless inventory flow and timely resolution of return-related issues.
  • Escalate operational risks, inventory discrepancies, and backlog concerns in a timely and solution-oriented manner to the Senior Manager of Shipping Operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall inventory performance.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in distribution, warehouse, receiving, or inventory operations.
  • Minimum 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual required.
  • Working knowledge of inbound logistics, inventory control, and returns processing.
  • Experience operating in a high-volume, service-driven distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical & Schedule Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Overtime required based on business needs.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. Base salary is determined by individualized factors such as experience and market location.
