Avo Photonics is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff have the opportunity to design, prototype and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.

We seek a diligent, dedicated and meticulous person who will help to further our success and reputation in the industry through world-class customer service. The successful candidate must plan his/her own work schedule, keep multiple records, be self-motivated, maintain a professional presence, and have the desire to take ownership of projects.

Specifically:

• Train, coach, and develop receiving and shipping staff.

• Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and procedural discipline.

• Manage daily receiving operations of all incoming shipments, such that all materials are transacted in the ERP system within 24 hours of delivery.

• Provide timely communication with Purchasing and Finance teams to resolve quantity discrepancies or paperwork inaccuracies.

• Ensure proper handling, storage, and traceability of fragile and high-value components.

• Optimize warehouse layout to guarantee safety, protect materials and improve efficiency.

• Oversee outbound shipments including order verification, packaging, documentation, and carrier coordination.

• Work with counterparts at Avo's second manufacturing facility to move materials between buildings, as needed.

• Take ownership of Receiving Problem Log and push for daily resolution.

• Maintain compliance with safety, internal quality standards and audit requirements.

• Participate in physical inventory at the end of each half-year.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of warehouse leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.

• 5 years working with an ERP system (SAP preferred).

• Knowledge of material traceability and lot control systems.

• Ability to lift and move boxes meeting OSHA weight specifications.

• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.

• Strong independent decision-making and problem solving skills.

• Experience in ISO-certified manufacturing environments preferred.

• Highly organized and efficient at prioritizing workload.

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
