The donations you receive, the merchandise you sell, and the customers you serve all help support Habitat's mission of creating affordable homeownership opportunities in our community.We are looking for a ReStore Receiving & Sales Associate who enjoys working with people, staying active, and being part of a team. This position plays an important role in receiving donated materials, preparing merchandise for sale, helping customers, maintaining the sales floor, and generating revenue that supports Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity's mission.WHAT YOU'LL DOReceive & Process DonationsAssist donors with unloading donations, completing paperwork, and understanding the donation process.Receive, inspect, test, clean, and process donated merchandise through the receiving area.Determine whether donated items meet Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity ReStore quality standards.Safely move, sort, organize, and stage donated materials for processing and sale.Work alongside Donation Ambassadors, Floor Associates, volunteers, and other team members to keep donated materials moving efficiently from receiving to the sales floor.Remove damaged or incomplete merchandise and dispose of items appropriately at management's direction.Provide Great Customer Service & Drive SalesGreet customers and donors warmly and create a welcoming ReStore experience.Answer customer questions and assist shoppers in finding products that meet their needs.Assist customers throughout the purchase process and communicate customer needs to other staff members when necessary.Research and price merchandise accurately.Merchandise furniture, appliances, paint, lighting, building materials, and other products in an attractive and organized manner.Keep merchandise stocked, displays maintained, and the sales floor clean and inviting.Cross-train in other ReStore functions, including operating cash registers and processing customer payments accurately.Support Store OperationsHelp maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, warehouse, and sales floor.Work with and provide direction to daily volunteers on various projects and tasks.Notify managers of customer service issues, safety concerns, inventory needs, or other store needs.Help ensure consistent and efficient store operations.Perform other duties as assigned.THIS IS AN ACTIVE, HANDS-ON JOBThis is not a desk job. The Receiving & Sales Associate spends significant time on their feet working in a warehouse and retail environment.The position regularly involves:Receiving and moving donated furniture, appliances, building materials, and other merchandise.Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.Bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, sometimes in awkward positions.Climbing stairs and navigating a busy warehouse and sales floor.Using safety equipment and tools to process donations.Moving merchandise between the receiving area, warehouse, and sales floor.Working in temperatures that can fluctuate with the weather.The ability and willingness to perform physical, manual-labor tasks safely and consistently is an essential part of this position.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORWe are looking for someone who:Enjoys helping people and providing friendly, helpful customer service.Is comfortable working in a fast-paced retail and warehouse environment.Is willing and able to perform regular heavy lifting and physical work.Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in keeping merchandise organized and presentable.Can work effectively as part of a team.Is comfortable engaging customers and supporting sales.Can actively listen, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to customers and donors.Understands the importance of the ReStore and how its operations support the overall mission of Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Valid driver's license.Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.Customer service and/or sales experience preferred.Forklift certification is recommended or the ability to obtain certification as needed.Knowledge of or willingness to learn about Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity's mission and the role of the ReStore in supporting that mission.WHY THE RESTORE MATTERSWHY THE RESTORE MATTERSThe ReStore does more than sell donated materials.
