Summary
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the daily operations of receiving at our warehouse and distribution facility. This role ensures the accurate and timely handling of all incoming shipments, verifying and recording shipments, and maintaining records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS). This role is within the receiving department, or as needed for daily operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
Sign-in and sign-out drivers upon arrival and departure, ensuring smooth traffic flow and safety compliance.Verify drivers' appointment confirmations at the security gate to ensure proper scheduling and access control.Accurately enter shipment details into the WMS according to order requirements, maintaining up-to-date and precise records.Upload receiving documents, such as Bills of Lading (BOLs) and packing lists, into the WMS to ensure proper documentation and traceability.Record and report any order discrepancies in the WMS, collaborating with relevant departments to resolve issues promptly.Upload photos of received goods into the WMS to provide visual proof and support documentation.Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed, ensuring accurate stock levels and reporting any discrepancies.Liaise with drivers and internal teams to coordinate shipments and resolve any logistical issues.Ensure all receiving activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.Perform other duties as assigned, including general warehouse tasks such as organizing inventory, maintaining a clean work area, and assisting with special projects.
Required Skills/Abilities and Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse environment preferred.Proficient in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with drivers, vendors, and team members.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.Ability to lift and occasionally move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
