Receiving Clerk

Location: Elgin, IL
Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday)
Pay: Competitive – Based on Experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team in Elgin, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments while ensuring inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate is organized, computer proficient, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, and completeness.

• Verify packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documents.

• Unload deliveries safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.

• Accurately enter receiving information into the ERP system.

• Label and distribute incoming materials to the appropriate departments.

• Report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged materials to purchasing and management.

• Maintain organized inventory and receiving areas.

• Assist with cycle counts and inventory control activities.

• Coordinate with warehouse, production, and purchasing teams to ensure materials are available when needed.

• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.

• Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk, Warehouse Associate, or Shipping & Receiving Clerk preferred.

• Manufacturing or distribution experience is highly preferred.

• Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

• Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.

• Forklift certification or experience is a plus (training may be provided).

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

• High school diploma or GED required.
