New Tech Global Staffing is currently seeking a Receiving Clerk for a client located in East Houston, TX to join our team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
Pay: $19.00/hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Summary:
The Receiving Clerk plays a vital role in supporting warehouse and inventory operations by ensuring all incoming materials and products are accurately received, inspected, documented, and stored. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining inventory accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation
• Inspect deliveries for shortages, damages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly
• Accurately enter receiving information into inventory and warehouse management systems
• Label, sort, and stock materials in designated warehouse locations
• Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts and inventory audits
• Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams regarding shipment status and discrepancies
• Load and unload trucks using material handling equipment when required
• Maintain neat, organized, and safe receiving and storage areas
• Process receiving paperwork and maintain documentation for inventory control purposes
• Assist with inventory transfers and material movement throughout the facility
• Follow company safety procedures and warehouse best practices at all times
• Support shipping and warehouse activities as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, inventory control, or logistics preferred
• Familiarity with purchase orders, packing slips, and inventory documentation
• Basic computer skills and data entry experience
• Experience using inventory management or ERP systems is a plus
• Forklift experience or certification preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
