    Job Description

    Summary

    A Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments. Their duties include unloading delivery trucks and checking incoming shipments against product invoices, organizing and storing shipments until they receive outgoing order requests and notifying management personnel when they don’t have enough of a particular product to fulfill orders.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Receive, inspect and record shipments with raw material or products.
    • Will be responsible for receiving packages and checking their content to ensure they match orders.
    • Process all incoming paperwork for coils, washers, out-source, chemical, fed-ex, amazon & UPS shipments in a timely manner.
    • Verify paperwork is properly handled to Conveyance dock personnel.
    • Paperwork is required to off load a truck, no paperwork, Conveyance contacts receiving, who contacts vendor
    • Closes all applicable purchase orders in Great Plains and AS400 systems.
    • Posting of receiving batches following procedure.
    • Contact supplier/shipper and internal departments per procedure if a mistake or damage is identified.
    • Label all incoming FedEx, UPS, & Amazon packages received with the appropriate name/department that was ordered from and notify those parties via email.
    • Move FedEx, UPS, & Amazon packages to secure staging.
    • Perform all receiving activities and close transaction in real time both physically and in Great Plains/AS400.
    • Ensure all paperwork is transferred to Accounting office in a timely manner.
    • Ability to work overtime including weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education & Training

    Six months of related experience and or training, one-year certificate from college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    What You’ll Need

    • Computer knowledge of program and data entering.
    • Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position.
    • Solid understanding of health and safety requirements.
    • Basic Math and recording abilities.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Great communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Keen eye for detail.
    • Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time, and be on warehouse / manufacturing floor.
    • Ability to lift anywhere from 25lbs to 75lbs

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Fluent in English. 

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk or hear.  The Team Member is occasionally required to stand and use hands, walk, bend, lift, or twist.  The Team Member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.  The Team Member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.  The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  The Team Member must be able to lift a container of fasteners weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to sit; to use their hands to finger, handle, or feel; and to talk or hear.
