Receiving Inspector 2

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Receiving Inspector Level 2 or Level 3 in Oxnard, CA for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position is 100% onsite and serves as the first line of defense for incoming material, ensuring EEE components, assemblies, and other hardware meet contractual, configuration, and documentation requirements before acceptance into production. The role performs disciplined receiving inspection and works with Procurement, Supplier Quality, and Production teams to resolve material and documentation issues.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Level 2: 2 years of additional education and/or related experience
• Level 3: 4 years of additional education and/or related experience
• Experience performing inspection for proper identity and dimensional conformance
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, comparators, gages, pin gages, and other inspection tools
• Experience performing visual inspection for defects or damage, including corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits
• Ability to make pass/fail acceptance decisions and maintain inspection records
• Familiarity with QMS documentation, including purchase orders, blueprints, drawings, inspection instructions, and checklists
• Working knowledge of AS9100 or equivalent aerospace/defense Quality Management System requirements
• Familiarity with SQAR requirements and Q-code application in a government contract environment
• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Skills

• TIPQA inspection management system experience
• Deltek Costpoint ERP experience
• SAP inspection type codes or equivalent ERP receiving/inspection module experience
• IPC-A-610 Certified Inspection Specialist (CIS) or Certified IPC Trainer (CIT)
• IPC-A-600 familiarity
• CCAP or AS6081 training in counterfeit component detection and avoidance
• Experience supporting Material Review Board (MRB) disposition activities
• Background in quality assurance, supplier quality, or incoming inspection in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment

What You’ll Do

• Perform receiving inspection on flight-critical hardware, including EEE components, PWBs, RF cable assemblies, COTS items, and government- and contractor-furnished equipment
• Validate supplier documentation, including Certificates of Conformance, test data, lot traceability, and quality requirements
• Execute inspections according to applicable quality specifications, work instructions, and program requirements
• Initiate and complete inspection records in TIPQA and verify required QC routing in Costpoint
• Initiate Nonconformance Reports and support MRB documentation
• Perform visual, dimensional, and documentation-based inspections
• Place material on hold when documentation or configuration issues remain unresolved
• Support root cause and corrective action reviews
• Collaborate with Procurement, Supplier Quality, and Production teams to resolve supplier documentation deficiencies and system issues

• Pay Rate $37.52
