A stable, well-established global manufacturer of control, safety, and hazardous area solutions is seeking a Receiving Inspector to join the team. This role sits within the Quality Assurance department and works closely with the Quality Manager and Quality Analyst. The Receiving Inspector is responsible for supporting daily receiving and inspection functions, ensuring incoming materials meet engineering document standards and specifications before entering the production process.

Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire
Hours: M-F 8:00am-4:30pm

Responsibilities:
  • Place incoming material into Arrived Status in MRP system.
  • Confirm part quantity matches PO quantity.
  • Inspect parts to engineering document standards and specifications.
  • Receive purchase orders into the MRP system once parts are verified as acceptable.
  • Learn to complete First Article Inspections as required.
  • Learn to complete NCRs for non-conforming material.
  • Work priorities when notified to support customer and/or production needs.
  • Work with the Quality Manager and Quality Analyst as needed.
  • Help with or complete special projects at the discretion of the Quality Manager.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in receiving and inspection of manufactured and purchased parts
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using general metrology equipment in a light engineering environment (height gauges, verniers, calipers, etc.)
  • MS Office experience required; working knowledge of MRP systems; IFS experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of the valve, casting, machining, and PCB industry is a plus
  • Ability to operate Forklifts and pass certification
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to fluently communicate in English
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and handle shifting priorities
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, accuracy, and attention to quality
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 40 pounds
