Westfield Family Physicians, PC is a primary care group serving a patient population of about 12,000 patients in two locations: Westfield, NY and Sherman, NY. Read more about our practice at http://westfieldfamilyphysicians.com/We are seeking a full-time medical receptionist to join our team, rotating between both our locations. A successful candidate must be able to handle a high-paced clinic, multi-task and must be able to greet and serve patients and their families with a friendly smile, compassion, and skill. MEDENT practice management software experience is preferred.All staff members at Westfield Family Physicians work under defined roles as they provide patient care. They are a member of a team, and attend regularly scheduled meeting, taking part in a structured communication process. The structured team communication includes reporting to one another and the department team leader.Reception staff are responsible for managing patient intake and exit. All patient health Information must be handled in a confidential and proficient manner in accordance with state and federal privacy laws. The reception department Is also responsible to greet any person arriving at the office and direct them to the appropriate staff member or department.Duties and Responsibilities:Log on and off software applications (both on local area network as well as the internet) in a secure manner and in accordance with company policies.Schedule and manage patient appointments (add, cancel, reschedule) by phone and in person.Look up patient information as appropriate, and verify insurance benefit eligibility.Collect and maintain patient insurance information as appropriate.Verify patient information, demographics, insurance information / eligibility, patient privacy preferences, etc.Collect patient co-insurance payments as applicable, whether cash, check, or debit/credit card.Print and fax as necessary.Maintain a thorough knowledge and functions of the company phone system (hold, transfer, etc.)Maintain a thorough knowledge of the automated patient appointment reminder call systemParticipate in morning huddles and communicate relevant information during morning huddles.Communicate effectively with patients and staff.Conduct oneself in polite and courteous manner to co-workers and patients.Use email and triage communication in accordance with company protocols.Various other tasks as assigned by team leader and/or other management staff.Physical Requirements:Computer screen time for 10 hour period dailySit for 10 hour period dailyAbility to lift 10 lbs.
