Datrose is hiring a Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to support a professional counseling services office in Buffalo, NY.
This isn't just about answering phones and filing paperwork. You'll be one of the first people participants interact with, helping create a welcoming, organized environment while supporting the administrative work that allows counseling staff to focus on the individuals they serve.

- Pay: $19.00-$26.00 per hour, based on experience
- Location: Buffalo, NY
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
- Assignment: 5-month contract
- Work Setting: On-site, professional office environment
- Office Closures: New York State holidays
- Pay Schedule: Biweekly
What Will You Actually Be Doing?
Every day will bring a mix of people, paperwork, and priorities. You'll be helping keep the office organized and making sure participants and staff have the support they need.
Be the welcoming first impression.
- Greet visitors and participants with professionalism and kindness.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to general questions, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff.
- Help verify appointments and maintain an organized reception area.
Keep the details on track.
- Enter and update participant information accurately.
- Assist with opening new cases and correcting errors in existing records.
- Organize electronic and paper files, maintain documentation, and help prepare service authorizations.
- Support counseling staff with everyday administrative tasks.
Keep the office moving.
- Prepare and send emails, letters, and other correspondence.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Help monitor office supplies and keep administrative materials organized.
- Balance competing priorities while meeting deadlines and protecting confidential information.
What We're Looking For
You don't need to know everything about counseling services to succeed here. What matters is that you're dependable, professional, organized, and comfortable learning office processes.
You'll be a strong candidate if you have:
- Reception, customer service, clerical, or administrative experience.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional telephone manner.
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, data entry, and electronic document management.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially when working with sensitive records.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks without losing track of important details.
- Good judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
- A willingness to jump in, help your coworkers, and contribute to a positive office environment.
