Receptionist / Guest Services Team Member

Dog Star Ranch is hiring a friendly, dependable Receptionist to join our Guest Services team.

Our front desk is the first and last impression for our clients and their dogs, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys people, loves pets, stays organized, and can keep a busy lobby running smoothly.

Starting pay: $15/hour

Position type: Part-time with potential to become Full-time

Schedule: Wednesday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm and Saturday 8:30am - 2:30pm. 

What you’ll do

As a Receptionist, you’ll help create a welcoming, professional experience for every client and pet who comes through our doors. Responsibilities include:

• Greeting clients and dogs warmly when they arrive
• Answering phones promptly and professionally
• Scheduling reservations for daycare, boarding, grooming, and other services
• Checking pets in and out accurately
• Confirming client information, pet care instructions, vaccination records, and service details
• Processing invoices, payments, and retail purchases
• Giving facility tours to potential new clients
• Explaining services, policies, and procedures in a clear and friendly way
• Helping clients choose services or add-ons that benefit their pets
• Communicating with team members about arrivals, departures, special instructions, and client needs
• Keeping the front desk, lobby, and retail area clean, stocked, and organized
• Assisting with administrative tasks, forms, reminders, and client follow-up
• Handling client concerns calmly and professionally, with management support when needed

Preferred qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Experience processing payments or handling reservations is a plus
• Pet care, boarding, daycare, grooming, or veterinary experience is helpful but not required
• Must be willing to learn our services, safety standards, and client communication procedures

Physical requirements

This role may include standing, walking, typing, phone work, cleaning tasks, bending, and occasionally lifting or carrying items as needed. Like every role in pet care, keeping the facility clean and safe is part of the job.
