Receptionist Position at Three Trails Behavioral Hospital

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is actively hiring a Receptionist for our Intake Department. Our front desk team plays a vital role in creating a welcoming first impression for patients, families, and visitors. The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the hospital, providing professional, friendly, and efficient front desk support. This role is responsible for greeting visitors, managing calls, and assisting with administrative tasks to support daily operations.

The Receptionist will:

  • Greet and check in patients, families, and visitors for intake and admissions
  • Answer and route incoming calls related to admissions and inquiries
  • Assist with intake documentation and ensure accuracy of patient information
  • Verify basic patient information and assist with registration processes
  • Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Monitor and maintain a professional, welcoming reception area
  • Provide general information about services and admission procedures

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital will:

  • Serve children and adolescents, adults, and seniors with innovative and evidence-based inpatient behavioral healthcare focused on individual needs and comfort.
  • Create more than 200 new, full-time jobs including nurses, clinicians, therapists, technicians, and administrative staff, when the facility is fully operational.
  • Be located at the intersection of I-70 and Little Blue Parkway, adjacent to the Children's Mercy Hospital Outpatient Clinics.
  • Feature 120 licensed beds ready to meet the mental health needs of the surrounding community.
  • Span more than 88,000 square feet, and will include an activity yard and gym.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous receptionist, admissions, or healthcare administrative experience preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, especially in sensitive situations
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Basic computer proficiency (EHR systems and Microsoft Office preferred)
  • Professional, calm, and compassionate demeanor
  • Experience in behavioral health or hospital setting is a plus
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday with one of the following shifts: 8:00am-4:30pm or 12:00pm-8:30pm. This will be a total of 40 hours per week.
