    Reports To: Campus Leader

    Work Location: JH Knox Intermediate, Salisbury, NC

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 10-month employee

    Position Purpose

    The Receptionist / Front Office Coordinator serves as the welcoming face and

    organizational hub of J.H. Knox Intermediate. This position supports the daily

    operations of the school by creating a warm, efficient, student-centered

    environment for students, families, staff, and community partners, reinforcing

    the J.H. Knox mission of Engaged Today, Transforming Tomorrow.

    This role requires exceptional communication, organization, professionalism,

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    School Culture & Family Experience

    ? Serve as the first point of contact for students, families, visitors, and

    community members

    ? Create a welcoming, organized, and professional front office environment

    ? Greet all stakeholders warmly and respectfully

    ? Support a culture of belonging and hospitality aligned with the Knox

    vision

    ? Assist families with enrollment, registration, attendance, transportation,

    and general school information

    ? Help ensure all visitors follow school safety and check-in procedures

    Communication & Customer Service

    ? Answer and direct phone calls professionally and efficiently

    ? Respond to questions from families, staff, and community members

    ? Support school communication systems including newsletters,

    announcements, flyers, and messaging platforms

    ? Maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff information

    ? Facilitate communication between families and school personnel

    Operational & Clerical Responsibilities

    ? Maintain accurate records, files, and office documentation

    ? Process student sign-in/sign-out procedures

    ? Support attendance documentation and recordkeeping

    ? Assist with student cumulative records and data management as

    assigned

    ? Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries

    ? Maintain office supplies and materials

    ? Assist with scheduling and coordination of meetings or events

    ? Support school-wide logistics for testing, registration, events, and family

    engagement activities

    Student Support

    ? Provide calm, student-centered support to students visiting the office

    ? Assist students with problem-solving and basic needs

    ? Support restorative and relationship-centered practices

    ? Communicate student concerns appropriately to school personnel

    Technology & Systems

    ? Utilize district and school technology systems effectively

    ? Support communication and student information systems

    ? Maintain accurate electronic and paper records

    ? Assist with data entry and reporting as needed

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    ? High school diploma or equivalent required

    ? Experience in clerical, receptionist, customer service, or school office work

    preferred

    ? Proficiency with technology and office software

    ? Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    ? Experience working in a school setting

    ? Bilingual preferred

    ? Experience with student information systems and school communication

    platforms

    ? Knowledge of Rowan-Salisbury Schools procedures and policies

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    ? Ability to sit and stand for extended periods

    ? Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

    ? Ability to operate standard office equipmen
