We are seeking a Host and Workplace Experience Specialist/ Receptionist to serve as the face and personality of our office, creating a welcoming and engaging environment for employees, visitors, and partners. This role is central to ensuring that our workplace reflects the culture and values while delivering exceptional service and support.
The Host and Workplace Experience Specialist goes beyond traditional reception duties. This role is proactive, anticipating the needs of employees and the workplace team, and helping to shape a positive office culture. The ideal candidate has a strong hospitality mindset, outstanding interpersonal skills, and the flexibility to support a wide range of workplace initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Create a Welcoming Environment: Serve as the face of the office, hosting visitors and engaging with employees to foster connection, community, and a positive workplace culture.
- Enhance Workplace Experience: Anticipate and proactively support employee and guest needs, ensuring the office environment is professional, safe, and aligned with Ancestry's values.
- Support Workplace Operations: Partner with the Workplace team to deliver programs, events, and initiatives that strengthen employee experience and office functionality.
- Maintain Office Standards: Oversee reception and shared spaces, visitor management, and essential office services to ensure a polished, consistent, and efficient operation.
- Contribute to Team Success: Collaborate on projects and tasks as needed, offering ideas and solutions to continually improve the workplace experience.

- Organization and Technology: Highly organized with strong time-management skills, and comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and related office technologies.
- Flexibility and Collaboration: Willingness to adapt, take on diverse workplace-related tasks, and work closely with the broader Workplace team to deliver results.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm MST
Required Skills:
- Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative, or similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service attitude
- High school degree
Bonus/Soft Skills:
- Certification in Office Management is a plus
