Full-Time | In-Person | Nonprofit Mental Health Organization
Kohan International Foundation is seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and dependable Office Administrator / Medical Biller to join our team.

We are a nonprofit behavioral health organization committed to providing mental health services to underserved individuals, children, families, and communities that have historically faced barriers to accessing quality mental health care.
We are not simply looking for someone to fill an administrative position. We are looking for a long-term team member who believes in helping people and wants to grow with our organization.
As an Office Administrator, you will often be one of the first people a patient speaks with when seeking help. Your compassion, professionalism, organization, and follow-through can make a meaningful difference in helping someone successfully connect with mental health services.

Professional and friendly on the phone and in person
A strong communicator and listener

Able to manage multiple responsibilities and follow through on tasks

A collaborative team player
Interested in a long-term position and growing with our organization
Passionate about helping underserved and diverse communities
Able to maintain patient confidentiality and professional boundaries
Tagalog-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
The ability to communicate in Tagalog and English is highly valued and would be an important asset in helping us communicate effectively with Filipino patients, families, and community members.
Responsibilities include:
Answer incoming calls and assist patients professionally and compassionately
Help new patients through the intake process
Coordinate scheduling and appointment-related matters
Communicate with patients regarding forms, insurance information, and appointments

Help ensure patients receive timely administrative support and are connected with appropriate services
The position will also assist with medical billing responsibilities, including:
Submit insurance claims electronically and accurately
Monitor outstanding claims and follow up on unpaid, delayed, or denied claims
Review billing information for accuracy
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copays, and coverage
Communicate with insurance companies regarding claims, authorizations, eligibility, and payment issues
Assist with insurance appeals and supporting documentation
Maintain accurate billing records
Respond professionally to patient and insurance inquiries
Protect confidential patient and billing information
Medical billing or behavioral health experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
Medical or behavioral health billing
Insurance eligibility verification
CPT and ICD-10 coding
EHR or practice-management systems
Office Ally or similar billing platforms
Microsoft Word
Google Workspace and Google Sheets
Healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, or community-service organizations
This is more than administrative work.
When someone calls our office seeking mental health services, you may be the first person they speak with.
When insurance is verified correctly, a family can better understand its coverage. When a claim is handled properly, a patient may be able to continue receiving treatment. When a patient is confused about the intake process, your patience and assistance can help them successfully connect with care.
Your work helps create access. Your organization helps keep services moving. Your compassion helps people feel supported.
Kohan International Foundation is a nonprofit behavioral health organization dedicated to addressing mental health needs and expanding access to care.
We serve diverse and underserved individuals and families, including communities that have historically experienced barriers to accessing mental health services and community resources.
Our team works together to reduce those barriers and help individuals and families find support, stability, hope, and a path forward.
If you are organized, compassionate, dependable, and interested in meaningful work, we would love to hear from you.
