PRIMARY PURPOSE: - To represent Sugar River Bank by projecting a professional image thru actions and appearance.
- To acknowledge lobby customers immediately, ascertain their needs and escort or refer them too the appropriate person or department.
- To capably assist customers with all Bank services and products and to proficiently assist them with questions and concerns in regards to their account(s).
- Demonstrate world class service through performance and attitude.
- Provide exceptional service to our customers by adhering to all service standards.
- Look for and capitalize on opportunities to continually expand the Bank's relationship with each and every customer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS: - Assist in opening and closing procedures, including but not limited to:
- Change date on check writer.
- Check supplies for check writer and cyber caf.
- Review lobby for neatness and presentation
- Review Community Bulletin Board for neatness, current and interesting material.
- Open lobby doors 9am.
- Prepare lobby for close.
- Lock lobby doors at end of day.
- Greet lobby customers, ascertain their needs and direct them to the appropriate individual/department.
- When appropriate, take accurate message and forward to individual or department.
- Answers incoming calls promptly and professionally:
- When need be, transfer to the appropriate individual or department
- Take accurate message and forward to appropriate individual or department
- Request coverage of incoming calls when unavailable
- Receive morning mail and distribute to appropriate individuals and departments for processing.
- Sign for incoming Federal Express and Airborne mail. Deliver to appropriate department.
- Record and sign for incoming certified mail and deliver to appropriate department.
- Process check orders for customers. Update any requested changes on checks. Keep up to date with the check ordering software and maintain good relationship with our check provider.
- Assist with the scanning process of Retail paperwork.
- Distribute returned mail to originator or department.
- Assist with mailings for Bounce Protection Program.
- Distribute contents of courier bags to appropriate individuals or department.
- Regularly report any customer concerns relative to the Bank to the Branch Supervisor.
- Cooperate with other departments/branches to ensure harmony and understanding in all aspects of our Bank.
- Complete Bankers Edge courses in a timely manner as required.
- Maintains 'captured card' ATM log and calls customers regarding these cards.
SECONDARY DUTIES/FUNCTIONS: - Schedule, process agreements, invoices, payments and maintain calendar for the renting of the Community Room. After rental inspect room for cleanness and set up.
- Assist in department requests, including but not limited to:
- Statement mailings.
- Misc. mailings for new products/services, implementing new regulations, etc.
- Filing needs
- Department projects
- Attend department meetings and when requested, record minutes for hand-out.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, secure environment for customers and co-workers keeping a professional image.
- Perform light maintenance such as dusting, vacuuming, cleaning counter-tops, and emptying waste baskets.
- In season:
- Salt, sand and shovel walkways when needed.
- Holiday decorating and cleanup.
- Order supplies in support of lobby check writer and Community Bulletin Board.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Individuals must possess, be able to explain and demonstrate that they have the skills, the ability and knowledge in the Deposit Service Department in order to safely and efficiently perform the essential and secondary functions of the Receptionist's position, with or without reasonable assistance and with or without mechanical devices. EQUIPMENT USAGE: - Computer terminals, calculators, printers, official check printers, copiers, passbook printers, typewriters,
Coin/currency machines, telephone, credit card-cash advance terminals and other equipment as need be. PHYSICAL: - Physical activity of this position requires:
- Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction; pick, pinch, type or otherwise work primarily with fingers continuously.

- Ability to sit for long periods of time primarily in one spot.
- Ability to lift 30lbs from the floor to above waist level occasionally to pass coin orders over the counter to customers
- Ability to crouch and kneel for short periods of time to service and/or set up equipment
- Ability to walk about the work area to perform various tasks
- Ability to push and pull objects of larger size to move equipment and coin when necessary
- Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Essential functions include activities in which incumbent must convey detailed or important spoken ideas to co-workers and customers.
