Receptionist - Radiology

Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Benefit Eligible
Schedule: 20 hrs/wk, First Shift, Variable days 8:30a-5p, every 3rd Saturday 6a-12:30p, no Sundays or holidays

Summary:
Assures that all customers are greeted and received promptly and courteously. Monitors patient wait times using visual and/or the Radiology Information System. Assures appropriate paperwork is processed correctly, organizes and compiles information, answers telephone according to established protocol and performs follow-up as necessary. Assists with Orientation of students, and/or new employees. Performs account balance collections and setting up payment plans for patients at time of check-in.
Minimum Qualifications:
a. High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
a. One (1) year prior clerical experience in one of the following areas: medical records, medical insurance claims processing, customer service, or related public contact;
b. Experience utilizing a computer in a Windows or DOS environment, Fax machine, and copier/scanner.
c. Ability to pass medical terminology exam administered by Human Resources
a. Light Typing.
b. May work with others or independently on routine tasks following written and oral instructions, referring special problems or unusual circumstances to supervision.
c. Ability to handle peaks and valleys in volume, numerous interruptions while carrying out routine tasks and necessitates coordination of many functions quickly and accurately.
d. Successful completion of training and competency testing for appropriate Radiology Information System module(s) and use of peripheral hardware.
e. Ability to efficiently utilize PC, facsimile, and other office equipment required to complete responsibilities of the job.
f. Interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact in person, over the telephone, and in written communication.
g. Ability to pay close attention to detail in order to process patients appropriately.
h. Ability to work within the customer service policies and procedures for the assigned area.
a. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
4.Level of Physical Demands:
a. Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
