Receptionist & Switchboard

Pay: $19.57-$21/hr, paid weekly
Location: Los Angeles, CA 90067
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Duration: 3-Month Contract with potential for extension or conversion


Overview

Serve as the first point of contact for a busy law office by providing professional front desk, switchboard, and administrative support. This role includes greeting visitors, managing incoming calls, coordinating conference room schedules, ordering catering for meetings, and assisting with light administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain a polished, professional presence while managing multiple priorities.


Key Responsibilities

Reception & Front Desk

  • Answer and direct incoming calls using a multi-line switchboard.
  • Welcome and assist clients, visitors, and vendors.
  • Maintain visitor check-in procedures and office security.
  • Respond professionally to emails and general inquiries.


Administrative Support

  • Schedule and maintain conference room calendars.
  • Coordinate food and catering orders for meetings.
  • Enter invoices and perform light administrative tasks.
  • Assist with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office projects as needed.


Office Support

  • Maintain a professional front desk environment.
  • Lift and move office supplies or packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Support the office with additional administrative duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of receptionist, administrative, or switchboard experience.
  • Previous experience in a law firm or legal office is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and phone etiquette.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a front desk role.
  • Comfortable learning and using office technology and equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
