Recess Monitor/Crossing Guard AM

DeForest Area School District is located just ten miles northeast of Madison in Dane County. We offer outstanding facilities and a positive work environment. This position will work 4.5 hours per day, on days school is in session. Windsor Elementary serves students in grades K -3.

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide assistance and supervise students on the playground, cafeteria, and other areas during the school day and to monitor student behavior and deal with issues as appropriate.

Crossing Guard duties include:

• Directs students to remain at intersection and escorts students across intersections in a safe manner.
• Motions for vehicles to stop in order for students to cross intersections.
• Monitors vehicular and pedestrian traffic at designated intersection. Notifies the Principal of student behavior problems or of motorists who disobey guard signals.
