Job Title: Recess Paraprofessional Agreement Days: 25/26 school days
Reports To: Assistant Principals Starting Salary: $18.24 per hour
Part Time working either 2, 3, or 5 days per week with the hours of 10:00-1:45
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
The Recess Paraprofessional will support the safety and well-being of students during recess and outdoor activities. This role involves supervising students, providing positive guidance, ensuring appropriate behavior, and assisting with any physical or emotional needs that may arise during the school day in accordance with AVA policy and procedures.

Specific Capabilities:
Supervise students during outdoor recess, lunchtime, and other break periods to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
Maintain a safe environment by monitoring students at all times, including in play areas and when transitioning between activities.
Ensure that students follow school rules, interact respectfully, and resolve conflicts in a positive manner.
Ensure that playground and outdoor equipment is safe for student use and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate staff.
Respond appropriately in case of accidents, injuries, or emergencies, following established school protocols.
Provide positive reinforcement for appropriate behavior and address minor behavioral issues with fairness and consistency.
