The Reconditioning Coordinator supports the reconditioning, PDI, recall, and inventory repair process for new and used vehicles. This role helps ensure vehicles move through the reconditioning process efficiently, accurately, and in line with company standards.
This position works closely with Service, Sales, Parts, Technicians, Porters, and leadership to help track vehicle status, coordinate work, communicate updates, and support AutoNation’s four-day turnaround target.
The goal of this role is to help deliver high-quality, front-line ready vehicles that are prepared for sale while supporting internal service operations.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

  • Assist with opening, tracking, and updating internal repair orders for PDI, CPO, new and used vehicle recalls, and reconditioning work.
  • Help monitor the status of vehicles going through the reconditioning process.
  • Communicate updates to Service, Sales, Parts, Technicians, Porters, and management as needed.
  • Participate in service and sales team meetings to provide updates on vehicle status and prior-day progress.
  • Support scheduling and workflow coordination for Reconditioning/PDI Technicians and Porters.
  • Help identify inventory with open recalls and assist with scheduling recall completion when parts are available.
  • Work with the Parts and Service teams to help ensure recalls and reconditioning work are completed in a timely manner.
  • For non-brand vehicles, help coordinate with other company stores or outside stores when recall completion is needed.
  • Assist with vehicle walk-around inspections alongside the Used Car Manager to help identify needed inspection, certification, or appearance-standard work.
  • Help prepare estimates based on inspection results and technician recommendations.
  • Submit requests for approval on additional work when needed through RPR Compass or other available systems.
  • Help ensure repair orders are updated, accurate, and closed in a timely manner after work is completed.
  • Use the After-Sales Compass RPR system to help maintain accurate vehicle status updates.
  • Support accurate parts, labor time, pricing, and documentation for reconditioning work.
  • Help ensure CPO requirements are completed according to OEM and AutoNation standards.
  • Communicate with reconditioning vendors to support quality, cycle time, and timely invoicing.

What are the requirements for this job

  • Must meet the company’s employment requirements.
  • Valid in-state driver’s license with an acceptable, safe driving record.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles preferred.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and information.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple departments and prioritize tasks.
  • Previous automotive, service, inventory, or production-related experience preferred, but not required.
  • Previous industry knowledge preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to inclement weather.
  • Ability to operate an automobile.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping and bending.

Hourly plus bonus. $40K - $55K annual.
