Your Role at Baxter

This is where my hands make life-sustaining products

Perform a wide range of disassembly, reassembly, paint and packing operations required to recondition beds and various other products and components. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and repair as required. Install a wide range of field upgrade kits and perform retrofit duties and functions as required by the business. Load / unload trucks and maintain inventory records of beds and components. Perform various technician duties in support of the department supervisor / engineer. Perform various duties required to support areas outside of the Reconditioning department as assigned and as needs arise including (but not limited to) material handling and inventory control, new product assembly and final inspection of new products.

Your Team

You’ll join a hands-on, highly collaborative team of technicians and engineers dedicated to restoring, upgrading, and supporting a wide range of products and manufacturing equipment. This team plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction by reconditioning equipment, performing repairs, and supporting production needs across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Installation of upgrade kits and product modifications.
  • Perform cosmetic repairs (ie: sanding / painting).
  • Cleaning and disinfecting of used beds and components.
  • Disassembly and reassembly of beds and components.
  • Packing of various finished products.
  • Perform material handling duties including loading/unloading of trucks.
  • Computerized labor reporting & inventory control transactions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, tools, and fixtures.
  • Retrofit and rework of various new products and components.
  • Perform various visual and mechanical inspections of products and components.
  • Record keeping and maintenance of various production reports.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies, and procedures.
  • Adhere to all regulatory compliance policies and procedures.

What You'll Bring

  • High School Diploma or (GED) General Education Degree.
  • Required to acquire and hold a valid CDL license and have the ability to move trucks and trailers safely and efficiently from one location to another.
  • May be required to acquire a powered industrial vehicle (PIV) certification and operate forklifts and/or other industrial vehicles.
  • May be required to acquire a weld certification through internal company weld school and perform occasional weld repairs on damaged products.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mechanical skill and dexterity
  • Ability to learn and perform a wide range of activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to make thoughtful decisions and draw accurate conclusions based on available information.
  • Occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and grasping.
  • Ability to physically move bed frames.
  • Ability to enter and exit high profile vehicles.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in extreme cold and/or extreme heat.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $43,200 - $54,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
