Job Overview
The records clerk will be responsible for the organization and maintenance of all firm records.
Responsibilities
- Work with older case files to ensure they are meeting retention requirements
- Label case file boxes when received and put information into S&L File Storage database
- Receive case file boxes or collect them to begin scanning process
- Scan file contents into iManage
- Safekeeping items (ie., flash drives, cd's, original signature documents such as wills) are removed from the case file boxes and put into permanent storage
- After scanning, boxes are labeled for destruction based on Firm retention policy
- Locate and retrieve scanned files and original items when requested
- Ensure all files, physical and digital, are maintained according to Firm retention policy
- Access S&L File Storage database to confirm authorization of records requests
- Assist with other duties as needed
- Provide lunchtime coverage for main switchboard as needed
- Requires regular lifting of up to 40 lbs (may vary), along with bending, reaching, and stretching
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple projects and balance priorities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
- Experience in iManage and LMS would be a plus.
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Experience at a law firm not necessary, but would be a plus
- Proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
- Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
Job Type:Full-Time 40 hours/week onsite
