For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Duration: This position is funded for up to 428 hours.

Work Location: This is a hybrid position (remote work and on-site work) with a geographic preference for Washington, DC or Denver. Candidates from all US locations will be considered.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in Records Management, Library Studies, or Information and Technology Management OR BA/BS Degree in Records Management, Library Studies, or Information and Technology Management with minimum additional experience of 3 year(s)

  • NARA training and experience with policies and management of federal records
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat
Duties:

This position will support the directorate with records management of digital materials. The enrollee will assess current recordkeeping practices, establish or revise file plans with crosswalk reference, support staff in implementing archival of key records, dispose of documents in accordance with policy, create annual records management review schedule. In addition to performing described job duties, the enrollee will also provide expert guidance and training to staff in order to continue maintenance and management of records long-term.

  • Assist with determining files eligible for disposal and retention by NARA. Provide recommendations for management of existing files and storage locations.   15%
  • Assist with creating and maintaining file plans and establish a standard operating procedure on record creation and management according to the current/approved DOI & NPS records schedules. Develop file directory structures in shared network drives or SharePoint sites for official records (i.e., 508 compliance).   65%
  • Provide resource assistance with records management questions. Provide training to staff at various levels on their records management roles and responsibilities. Develop a decision file checklist and schedule to assist staff in managing their program?s federal records.   20%
