Records Retention Specialist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $22/hr - $27/hr
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a dependable, collaborative, and detail-oriented Records Retention Specialist to support administrative, records, and logistics operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a customer-focused team environment, possesses strong computer literacy, and is comfortable balancing digital administrative duties with hands-on physical inventory management.
Responsibilities of the Records Retention Specialist:- Maintain electronic and hard-copy records systems to facilitate proper retention, disposition, and quality control of metadata and files.
- Process incoming and outgoing inactive records, maintain accurate circulation logs, compile daily activity statistics, and track inventory.
- Coordinate records retention schedules, issue destruction notifications, obtain approvals, and securely process obsolete records and media.
- Manage daily customer requests, verify security clearances for inactive file access, and provide guidance and training on records policies and systems.
- Handle daily retrieval, re-filing, offsite storage coordination for vital records, and maintain clean and organized vault areas.
- Perform interoffice courier deliveries and pickups across local office and facility sites using a provided company vehicle.
- Serve as a cross-trained, reliable team player supporting broader administrative, mail, and print services when required.
Required Experience/Skills for the Records Retention Specialist:- Minimum 1 year of dedicated records management experience.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record maintained for at least the past 3 consecutive years.
- High computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and specialized database/records management tools.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 35 lbs frequently and up to 55 lbs occasionally, including while ascending and descending safety ladders.
- Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable operating a delivery vehicle and planning efficient routes safely throughout the service territory.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Records Retention Specialist:- Prior experience managing inactive records centers, vault operations, or retention schedule compliance.
- Completion of Smith System (or equivalent) defensive driving techniques.
- Experience cross-training in administrative, mail room, or interoffice logistics functions.
Education Requirements:- High school diploma or GED is required.
