The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist provides direct peer support to individuals and families by drawing upon their own lived experiences to foster trust, engagement, and meaningful connections. Through mentorship, encouragement, and advocacy, they support individuals in identifying personal goals, building self-confidence, developing coping strategies, and strengthening the skills needed to achieve greater independence and well-being. Peer Specialists promote hope and empowerment while helping individuals navigate challenges and access available supports and resources.

Other Key Responsibilities:

• Assist individuals in developing, implementing, and monitoring personal goals through self-directed planning processes, while providing support during life transitions and changing circumstances.

• Conduct one-to-one and group-based activities that promote engagement, skill development, self-advocacy, wellness, and personal growth.

• Facilitate peer support groups and opportunities for shared learning, mutual support, and community connection.

• Support individuals in developing meaningful community roles and connections, including participation in educational, employment, volunteer, recreational, and social opportunities.

• Maintain knowledge of peer-led services, community resources, and support networks to connect individuals with opportunities that align with their interests, goals, and needs.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.

• Valid Driver’s License, reliable and insured vehicle and acceptable driving record, required.

• Must have lived experience with substance use disorder and have the ability to forge mutually beneficial relationships with people served while maintaining strong boundaries/ethics

• Must be a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) or be willing to obtain CARC within one year of employment. Open Sky pays for your certification! 

Pay Range:

$22.07 - $22.07
