Overview:

Share your recovery experience to help others in your role as a Recovery Specialist at Chestnut. Experience the satisfaction of helping to facilitate self-directed recovery. This full-time position will be based in Granite City, IL.

 

Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of integrated health care services. Since 1973, Chestnut has grown to more than 800 committed, compassionate employees providing substance use, mental health, and primary care treatment to patients in Illinois and Missouri. We provide fully integrated care for all our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Chestnut also conducts research and training throughout the U.S.A.

 

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $21.00 - $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
  • Engage clients in services prior to their treatment.
  • Help individuals to identify personal strengths and barriers to achieving treatment and recovery goals and to develop natural supports and sobriety-based activities to support long-term recovery.
  • Consult and encourage clients on concerns and achievements presented during the recovery process.
  • Link clients to recovery communities and ancillary services.
  • Coordinate services with treatment team and other supports.
  • Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.

 

 

Qualifications:
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) in good standing with the applicable state; and five years of demonstrated recovery experience and/or engaged in a recovery network
  • Crisis Intervention Treatment (CIT), policing, mental health, substance use or other social service experience. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable. 
  • Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and an electronic medical record (EMR).
