Recreation Aide

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic recreation aide to support our recreation team in planning and implementing recreational programs that meet physical, social and emotional, and cognitive needs for our residents.

Part-Time & Weekends

Recreation Aide Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in the development, organization, and execution of diverse recreational programs tailored to residents' interests and abilities.

· Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible for all residents.

· Assess residents' needs and preferences to create personalized activity plans.

· Maintain participation logs for programs

· Foster relationships with residents and their families to encourage participation and feedback.

· Coordinate special events, outings, and community engagement activities.

· Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all recreational activities.

· Maintain accurate records of resident participation and program evaluation.

· Participate in educational programs and in-services as mandated

· Understands and follows universal precautions an MSDS books

Recreation Aide Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a recreational or therapeutic setting, preferably in long-term care.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Passion for working with seniors and enhancing their quality of life.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to recreational activities.
