The Position
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general direction, the Recreation Assistant is responsible for assisting with program operations, including customer service, program registration, community events, program administration, and facility management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Acceptable Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses
High School Diploma
CPR and First Aid certificate or the ability to obtain certification within three (3) months of hire.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and Holidays as needed.
Supplemental Information
Knowledge of
Basic customer service techniques;
General purpose and operation of a recreational facility; and
Personnel policies and procedures.
Skill/Ability to:
Understand and enforce facility rules;
Work well with the public;
Handle cash and balance a cash drawer;
Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication; and
Maintain a good working relationship with supervisors and fellow employees.
Part Time employees who are regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week will participate in Social Security.
Part Time employees who are regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week will participate in the Texas Municipal Retirement System and will receive pro-rated accrued leave including Holiday, Sick, and Vacation. For more information view our benefits page .
