Annual Salary Range: $71,800 - $105, 900

The successful candidate's placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role.

DESCRIPTION / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Recreation Coordinator assigned to Pyle Adult 50+ programs is responsible for overseeing facility operations, community programming, rentals, and special events while ensuring high-quality services for older adult participants This position plays a key role in creating engaging recreational, educational, and wellness that enhance the quality of life for the community. The Recreation Coordinator manages daily facility functions, coordinates programming logistics, and performs a variety of administrative duties to support efficient operations. . The position also maintains and schedules more than 250 annual classes, planning large-scale annual events, coordinates brochure submissions and program marketing materials, and manages contracted instructors through recruitment, background checks, scheduling, and payment processing. opportunities

This position requires working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook), Zoom communications, website, PeopleSoft, Timeclock Plus, ActiveNet, operating budget and perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • ¿Plans, coordinates and oversees recreation programs and special events in specialized areas for adults 50+ at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center.
  • ¿¿Participate in planning for facility or program enhancements, including design input, equipment procurement, and service delivery improvements. ¿
  • Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and rules.
  • ¿¿Prepares and monitors program and facility budgets. ¿
  • ¿¿Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates full-time, part-time, contract, seasonal, and volunteer staff. ¿
  • Ensures facility, programs and events, are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as city policies related to public health, risk management, ADA accessibility, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Coordinates user agreements and partnerships with schools, community groups, vendors, and other City departments to support joint programming and facility use.
  • Maintain operational records and reports.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

Two (2) years of experience ¿in recreational, social, and/or cultural programs/activities, or related experience.

Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant's full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.

Education:

Bachelors degree in ¿¿Recreation management, education, social work, public administration, or related field.¿

Professional Licensure and/or Certifications:

¿Valid drivers license may be required based on assignment.¿

¿¿¿CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; obtain within six (6) months of hire.
