As a team we are committed inspired and connected to make a difference in the community.  What You Will DoAs the Recreation Leader for Adaptive Recreation and Community Programs you will support local recreation councils while leading inclusive programs for individuals with disabilities. In this role you will provide administrative support maintain records generate reports and coordinate facility reservations for community programs and events. You also participate in outreach meetings and event operations to ensure successful council and division initiatives. Additionally you develop lead and evaluate adaptive recreation programs coordinate staff and volunteers under the guidance of the Facility Coordinator help monitor use of the Charles Carroll Community Center and build partnerships that expand inclusive recreation opportunities. Essential Duties
Provide administrative assistance to local volunteer recreation councils. Support smooth operations communication and program coordination including attending evening meetings on behalf of the Division or Recreation.
Maintain and organize program files records and documentation compile monthly annual and program-specific reports including participation and budget data.
Secure and coordinate the use of facilities and spaces for community and adaptive recreation programs and events collaborate with facility managers the Board of Education and other partners to ensure availability and proper usage.
Lead develop implement and evaluate adaptive recreation programs and special events for individuals with developmental andor physical disabilities.
Recruit train coordinate and evaluate program leaders instructors and volunteers organize and conduct team trainings.
Conduct community outreach to promote recreation programs build relationships with stakeholders partners and all recreation councils to expand inclusive and accessible recreation opportunities.
Represent the Recreation Division at meetings community events and public forums contribute updates discuss improvements and assist with special events as needed.
Prepare and submit annual operating budgets for Adaptive Recreation track expenses and researchapply for grants that support program growth.
Assist with the operation and monitoring of the Charles Carroll Community Center.
Ensure all work is complete and timely to support department goals. Evaluate feedback and procedures to improve efficiency.
Invite collaboration and seek learning opportunities. Proactively assist peers to create a supportive work environment.

You Might Be a Good Fit IfEducation and Experience
Associate degree or two years of college in a related field
One or more years of related experience
A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Valid drivers license
CPR AED First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen certification or must obtain within one month of employment
Preferred Licenses and Certifications
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Professional
Additional Information
Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
Work schedule includes evenings weekends and holidays.
Must meet Carroll County Risk Management driver eligibility requirements
Working Conditions
Frequent physical activity standingwalking pushingpulling bending reaching lifting and carrying climbing steps squatting stooping kneeling and related activities.
Occasional exposure to potentially adverse environmental conditions including but not limited to chemicals noise and airborne particles.

Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
