SummaryUnder the supervision of a Program Coordinator or Recreation Specialist, this position will be responsible to develop and/or lead various recreational activities and assist patrons with registration. Must be available to work flexible hours and schedules to include weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures the safety and well-being of program participantsProvides excellent customer service to patrons, renters, and the public (phone and in-person)Develops, leads, and supervises general recreation programs, activities, and special eventsOpens and closes various facilities and performs attendant dutiesMaintains essential records and prepares reportsReceives payments and records registration/membership informationUses internal system to track patron attendance and program financesPerforms daily administrative tasks (cleaning, filing, sorting, answering phones, copying)Conducts pre/post event rental checklists with rentersAssists with the setup, cleanup, and breakdown of programs, events, and activitiesServes meals and snacks to program participants as neededSupervises and enrolls customers in general recreation programs for all ages across various areas (childcare, fitness studio, courts) and at eventsAdheres to City financial controls while enrolling customers and selling Recreation Center membershipsEnsures all membership guidelines, procedures and controls are followedFollows administrative, financial, and safety policiesPerforms other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of two (2) years of high schoolOne (1) year of experience as a recreation facility attendant or a related role
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year experience working in a related fieldBilingual in English and Spanish
Certificates and Licenses
Valid driver's licenseCPR and First aid or able to attain within 90 daysFood handler license or able to attain within 90 days
