This city is looking to hire a Floating Recreation Specialist to help create welcoming spaces where residents of all ages can learn, play, connect, and thrive. Working across our recreation centers, youll bring programs and events to life, support youth and seniors, assist with athletics and special events, and help ensure our facilities operate smoothly.
No two days are the same. Youll have the opportunity to build relationships throughout the city, collaborate with a dedicated team, and make a meaningful impact in multiple communities.
This is a full-time floater position that provides coverage across multiple facilities based on operational needs. The selected candidate must be available to work Monday through Saturday, with varying shifts, work hours, and assigned locations. Work schedules and facility assignments will be determined based on staffing needs. To provide advance notice and support planning, employee will receive their work schedule at least 2 weeks in advance. While schedules are provided in advance, changes may be necessary to meet unforeseen operational or staffing needs.

Typical Tasks
Monitors facility operation by opening and closing facilities, assisting with maintenance of grounds and facility, reporting necessary repairs, monitoring behavior of participants/facility users to ensure facility rules are followed, addressing safety issues and responding to incidents following guidelines and procedures.
May assist with developing and implementing recreation programs and activities by creating developmentally appropriate activities, submitting program proposals, set-up and breakdown of programs, leading activities, recruiting, coordinating and supervising volunteers, assisting with athletic events, marketing events, evaluating events, managing risks, and assists with other recreation facilities and programs as needed.
Performs administrative duties including the creation of flyers, answering phones, greeting patrons, running cash register, maintaining attendance log, updating member files, making copies, distributing marketing materials, assisting with special events, giving tours, maintaining communication with other agencies and program participants, assisting with office duties and program scheduling as needed, organizing and attending meetings as required and use of city vehicles for programs when required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR may require walking or standing to a significant degree.
