RECREATION SUPERVISOR

Parks, Recreation, Youth & Community Services

SUMMARY: Plans, organizes and supervises a high quality and diversified year-round, City-wide recreation program. Oversees all operations of the Recreation Division, including administrative oversight to the Pine lake Adventure Park high ropes course and associated programs. Evaluates programs through a benefits-based programming model and engages in on-going community needs assessment. Develops and enforces policies and practices that ensure programs are diverse, equitable and inclusive. Supervises, trains, evaluates, schedules and assigns a large number of year-round and seasonal employees. Promotes and markets recreation programs, and assists with fundraising activities and sponsorship acquisition. Assists in development and oversight of the Recreation Division budget and special revenue accounts, and all associated revenues and expenditures. Assists in other day to day activities of the Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Service Department. Required to work a varied schedule of hours as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's in recreation or related field plus four years progressive experience conducting organized recreation activities, including related administrative duties. Prefer Certified Parks & Recreation Professional designation.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATIONS: Valid CT Motor Vehicle Operator's License.

ANNUAL SALARY: $67,499 - $89,238. (Starting salary commensurate with experience.)

Upon approval of Tentative Agreement, proposed wage increase eff. 07-01-26 to $69,514-$91,815.
