Job Summary and Qualifications As a Recreational/Activity Therapist in Behavioral Health at our facility you will be joining a team that has a passion for creating positive patient interactions and a dedication to caring for the multi-faceted wellness of those we serve. In this role:You will develop and implement activities for patients to help foster self-awareness, increase social skills, and promote healthy creativity to effectively reduce anxiety, increase self-esteem, and manage behaviors.You will be responsible for assessing patient needs and completing patient assessments.You will plan and implement regular groups to meet the needs of patients.You will evaluate and document treatment goals and outcomes related to groups and patient involvement.You will review assessments and other activities performed by technicians and assist in the supervision and mentoring of Recreational Therapy interns and new Recreational Therapists.You will provide consultation to other hospital areas as directed by physician order, and under the supervision of the unit director.What qualifications you will need: Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateBachelors Degree(MT-BC) Music Therapy - Board Certified, or (RecTherapy) Recreational Therapist, or (CTRS) Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateBasic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateNo Travel RequiredNo experience Required Years of ExperienceValid driver's license, in good standing.
