Position Summary
The HR Recruiter is responsible for leading and coordinating recruitment efforts for a variety of positions within the organization, including social workers, administrative staff, and leadership roles. This position helps ensure an efficient, inclusive, and values-driven hiring process aligned with Together California’s mission and culture.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified and mission-aligned candidates
- Recruit for social work, administrative, leadership, and support staff positions
- Conduct interviews, coordinate reference checks, and assist with onboarding activities
- Build partnerships with colleges, universities, community organizations, and professional networks
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) hiring initiatives and practices
- Maintain recruitment records and applicant tracking systems
- Participate in job fairs, networking events, and outreach activities
- Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the hiring process
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
- Two to three years of talent acquisition or recruiting experience preferred, ideally in nonprofit or child welfare settings
- Knowledge of applicant tracking systems and recruitment best practices
- Understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) hiring principles
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
- Ability to clear required background clearances
- Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record

Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 an hour DOE
