The University of Florida Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and the STEM Translational Communication Center (STCC) in the College of Journalism and Communications is seeking an enthusiastic, qualified individual to fill the position of Recruitment Center Coordinator. The person in this position will assist investigators and study teams with navigating the research and recruitment environment and provide recruitment-related support as they develop protocols and interface with the required UF regulatory departments. The person in this position must have the ability to understandFederal, NIH, and CMS regulations to maintain protocol compliance. Promoting research participation in the community and CTSI services across the university and interfacing with other members of the NIH's national CTSA Recruitment Consortium will also be required. Individuals with experience tracking recruitment metrics (consults, participant enrollment) for reporting and managing research projects are encouraged to apply.

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description:

Recruitment Communication & Strategy (45%)
• Coordinate study recruitment efforts with investigators and study teams through recruitment
consultations, planning, and budgeting.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of recruitment plans and strategies,
participant-facing materials, including study information, digital content, social media messaging, and
outreach materials tailored to target populations.
• Coordinate the implementation and dissemination of participant-facing social media recruitment
campaigns on UF Studies and other web-based platforms.
• Design, test, and optimize new communication and messaging strategies grounded in evidencebased
recruitment principles.
• Collaborate with study teams to support participant retention using tailored, population-sensitive
communication strategies.
• Provide information about referrals to other CTSI services and act as a liaison between
Investigators and Service Providers.
• Partner with researchers to advance scholarship on recruitment and retention, contributing to
manuscripts, conference presentations, and CTSI-wide dissemination.
• Strengthen UF’s national presence by supporting initiatives that position the institution as a leader
in effective participant recruitment practices.

Outreach and Navigation (20%)
• Promote research participation opportunities in the community by attending community events on
behalf of the Recruitment Center.
• Act as a point of reference for study participants by answering questions and keeping them
informed on recruitment of CTSI studies
• Promote Recruitment Center services through presentations, trainings, consultations, and
partnerships across campus and health system units.
• Participate in the national CTSA recruitment consortium meetings and trainings, and collaborate
with research professionals across the consortia to identify recruitment strategies, tactics and tools and
learn best practices

Administrative / Regulatory (15%)
• Be knowledgeable and provide guidance on institutional policies and regulations related to
research recruitment to investigators and study teams as they develop protocols and interface with the
required UF regulatory departments.
• Provide guidance on UF, NIH, and federal policies related to the ethical recruitment of human
participants.
• Assist study teams with protocol development, IRB submissions, and creation of compliant
recruitment materials.

Data Management and Reporting (15%)
• Create reports and track relevant recruitment metrics (consults, participant enrollment) as
required for evaluation, publication, and NIH reporting
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting using internal tracking tools and assist investigators in using
tools for recruitment tracking.
• Support investigators in the use of recruitment tracking tools and promote data-driven decision making
across research teams.

Expected Salary:

$58,000-$63,000

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

• Ability to multi-task, capable of setting priorities, and working under pressure
• Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new software programs are imperative
• Experience with digital communications, particularly social media recruitment, health
communication strategies, or public engagement.
• Experience with content design (flyers, participant materials, social graphics) using tools like
Canva or Adobe.
• Experience in community outreach, participant navigation, or engagement with diverse
populations.
• Experience in obtaining/completing budget information, completing IRB, WIRB, RAC, OnCore,
and ClinicalTrials.gov requirements
• Prior experience in human subjects research or research compliance experience with UF’s
research submission processes
• Working knowledge of human research protection related regulations, laws, and institutional
policies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with academic and regulatory functions.
• Familiarity with medical terminology
