Job Description
Nucor is hiring an Inspector I in Salt Lake City, UT, to support safety and materials handling across local scrap processing operations. The role focuses on inspecting incoming recyclable loads for unacceptable items while safely directing customer unloading. Candidates must have at least 2 years of industrial experience, strong customer communication skills, and the physical ability to handle up to 50 pounds on a regular schedule.

Job Responsibilities
Primary Job Duties
- Customer Support & Material Handling: Assist and direct customers to proper unloading areas, physically manage materials and supplies, and support team members across duties.
- Safety & Hazard Inspection: Screen incoming materials for prohibited hazards (flammables, radioactive items, leaded materials, non-metallics, propane tanks, PCBs, batteries) and ensure unapproved items do not remain on company property.

Qualifications
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience & Availability: Minimum of 2 years in an industrial/outdoor environment; must be flexible for a 6-day work schedule (Monday–Friday 7:45 AM–4:30 PM, Saturday 7:45 AM–12:00 PM).
- Physical & Communication Skills: Dependable attendance, ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, excellent verbal communication skills, and Spanish bilingual skills (preferred).
