Location: Chantilly, VA

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with Tuesday-Saturday work schedule on weeks when Community Events take place

Reports To: Recycling Manager

Pay: $20.00 an hour

Position Summary

Securis is looking for a Recycling Lead, Community Events to combine hands-on warehouse leadership with the opportunity to represent Securis at electronics recycling events throughout our community.

This is an active, working-lead position for someone who enjoys being part of the team, not simply supervising from the sidelines. You will help lead daily recycling activities in our Chantilly facility while also taking ownership of Community Events, directing a small team as we collect and securely process electronics from members of the community.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable leading others, and willing to jump in wherever needed. You should enjoy physical, fast-paced work and take pride in helping your team operate safely, efficiently, and with a high level of customer service.

What You Will Do

Lead Community Events

• Lead and direct a small team during Securis Community Electronics Recycling Events.
• Help coordinate event setup, execution, equipment collection, and breakdown.
• Provide a positive and professional experience for community members dropping off electronics.
• Ensure collected equipment is handled securely, safely, and according to Securis procedures.
• Represent Securis and our commitment to security, sustainability, and service in the community.

Lead & Support Recycling Operations

• Provide day-to-day direction and support to recycling team members while actively working alongside the team.
• Help keep work flowing safely and efficiently throughout the recycling operation.
• Process electronics through sorting, disassembly, component separation, and placement into designated material streams.
• Use electronic scanning devices to accurately record equipment in Securis' inventory system.
• Help receive, move, prepare, and ship equipment and recycled materials.
• Use industrial scales to weigh and label scrap materials accurately.

Safety, Security & Equipment

• Follow and reinforce Securis' physical security and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, balers, industrial scales, and hand tools.
• Help ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and ready for use.
• Safely build, move, and organize pallets and containers throughout the facility.

What We Are Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of related experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, recycling, industrial, or similar hands-on environment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory and scanning systems.
• Dependable, organized, and comfortable taking responsibility for getting the job done.
• Ability to work occasional Saturdays as part of a Tuesday-Saturday schedule when Community Events are scheduled.

Preferred

• 1-2 years of team lead, supervisory, or people-management experience.
• Forklift experience and/or forklift certification.
• Experience working with electronics, IT equipment, or electronics recycling.
• Experience operating a baler or other warehouse equipment.
• Experience leading teams at off-site events, projects, or customer-facing activities.
