Introduction

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to support large-scale patching, upgrades, and operational management of a 1000 server Hadoop ecosystem running on RHEL 8.x and 9.x. This role is essential to strengthen our ability to manage patching and compliance holistically, while ensuring alignment with approved policies and procedures. The position operates horizontally across the EDAP Global Markets Data Platform, supporting multiple environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.x / 9.x.
• Proficiency in OS patching, upgrades, and system hardening as well as automation and scripting: Ansible, BladeLogic, Bash/Shell scripting.
• Experience managing large-scale environments (1000 servers preferred).
• Strong experience with Linux builds and provisioning, filesystem management (LVM, XFS, etc.), and performance monitoring and tuning.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on Big Data Technologies.
• Cloudera Admin/Dev Certification.
• Certification in Cloud, Docker-Container, OpenShift Technologies.
• Experience working in remote/distributed team environments.
• Prior work experience at client or in client's industry.

• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a 1000 server Hadoop ecosystem running on RHEL 8.x and 9.x.
• Ensure all patching and compliance is up to date in alignment with approved policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with distributed teams to provide operational support and troubleshooting expertise.
