Serving as a bridge between the school district and the surrounding tri-county community (Rusk, Chippewa, Barron), the Coordinator leverages district facilities and local partnerships to foster community engagement, promote healthy living, and maximize the utility of public educational assets.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Program Development & Management
    • Needs Assessment: Identify educational, recreational, and wellness interests of community members (youth, adults, and seniors) across Rusk and surrounding counties.

    • Course & Event Scheduling: Develop a balanced schedule of seasonal offerings (fall, winter/spring, summer) including adult enrichment, youth recreation, skill workshops, and community access programs.

    • Instructor Recruitment: Recruit, vet, and support volunteer or contracted community instructors and facilitators.

    1. Operations & Facility Coordination
    • Facility Usage: Coordinate facility use, gym time, equipment, and classroom access with building principals, athletic directors, and custodial staff.

    • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all programs comply with district policies, safety protocols, liability requirements, and facility guidelines.

    • On-Site Supervision: Periodically oversee evening or weekend community education offerings or assign designated supervisors.

    1. Communication, Marketing & Outreach
    • Program Promotion: Produce and distribute the Community Education catalog/bulletin via district newsletters, local media, social media, and online platforms.

    • Community Partnerships: Collaborate with local organizations (e.g., Rusk County Community Foundation, technical colleges and universities, local 4-H clubs, senior centers, surrounding district coordinators) to co-sponsor activities and expand reach.

    • Public Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for public inquiries, registration questions, and feedback regarding community offerings.

    1. Financial & Administrative Management
    • Budget Tracking: Manage the program budget, monitor revenues (class fees) and expenses (instructor fees, supplies), and process registrations.

    • Reporting: Maintain enrollment records, collect program evaluation data, and present annual or biannual updates to the Bruce Board of Education.
