Reference and Digital Access Archivist (Archivist I)Location: Salem, ORSalary: $4,975 – $7,636 per month (Non‑PERS); $5,274 – $8,094 per month (PERS). 6.99% COLA effective September 1, 2023.Hybrid remote work available.ResponsibilitiesEngage with the public and government employees to provide access to historically significant records in the Oregon State Archives.Offer outstanding service and guidance to researchers via phone, email, or in person, determining scope of inquiry and identifying available resources.Educate researchers on OSA's policies regarding access, including use of finding aids, bibliographic resources, and the electronic records access system (ORMS).Provide instruction on the use of equipment for access, reproduction, and migration.Identify and digitize analog records in accordance with unit rubrics; contribute to development of rubrics.File digitized and born‑digital content into OSA's content management system and maintain metadata per archival standards.Update policies, procedures, and workflows related to electronic records management.Collaborate with colleagues to design and oversee intern and volunteer programs.Stay current on best practices and trends in reference, preservation, digitization, metadata, and electronic records.Create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all users and colleagues.Represent OSA on national/statewide working groups, committees, and task forces.QualificationsValid Certified Archivist (CA) certification OR bachelor's degree (or higher) with at least 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of archival science, history, political science, government, library science, American civilization, economics, public administration, or records administration.Two (2) years of professional experience in archival sciences or a directly related field such as history, involving collection, appraisal, analysis, or synthesis of information with historical or archival value.Experience providing reference services to internal and/or external users.Coursework or experience in preservation and management of electronic records.Demonstrated knowledge of overseeing and completing work‑related projects.BenefitsDisability insuranceHealth insuranceFlexible spending accountPaid time offEmployee assistance programVision insuranceLife insuranceApplication ProcessSubmit resume, job history, and education sections; attach transcripts from an accredited institution.
