Pay Rate: $20.50/hr
Shift: Part-Time, Contract/Temporary
Anticipated Schedule: Tuesday 5.25 hours, Thursday, 5.25 hours, Sunday 5.5 hours
Entech Staffing is seeking a Part-Time Reference Librarian for a position at a local educational institution in Flint, MI. This is a part-time, contract/temporary role. Candidate will work about 16 hours a week with some weekend hours required.
The part-time reference librarian provides reference/research assistance to students and staff both in person and virtually. May also assist with Introduction to the Library sessions, collection development, and special projects.
Job Duties/Key Responsibilities:
Provides reference service to students, faculty, staff and others, utilizing print collections and a wide array of online information resources and databases. Instructs and assists patrons in searching electronic and print resources.
Order books and materials for assigned subject areas.
Serve as a liaison to assigned departments or divisions on campus to provide communication of library services/collections/resources and support to faculty in assigned areas.
Provide library orientations and instruction on library resources in coordination with other librarians or alone.
Work on special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
A Masters Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited institution
One year experience as an academic reference librarian.
Knowledge of and facility with online library catalog systems, Internet reference resources, and other library resources.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in providing resources to students in distance learning environments.
